About Sangena Tours

Sangena Tours is forward thinking tourism operation focusing on both the domestic tourism market and the international tourism sector within the Elephant Coast and Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park, a World Heritage Site along the eastern seaboard of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa.

History 

Ikhwezi Marketing Services, a financial services provider, came into existence in late 1998 and has grown in leaps and bounds since their doors were first opened. When Ikhwezi Marketing Services was first established the owner had a vision of incorporating a tourism division to supplement the financial services and marketing side of the business.

In mid 2006 a new company called Sangena Tours cc was registered to fulfill this vision, as it was realised that the tourism division needed to be run as a stand alone venture. Sangena Tours cc has a long term vision of incorporating many sub division such as :

• Tour guiding and guided tours of the Elephant Coast and Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park, a World Heritage Site.
• Bookings and information offices
• Tourism transport operation
• Catering for events and functions
• Hospitality and events management
• Accommodation and conference facilities for groups

Vision & Mission

Sangena Tours has a vision of becoming the foremost tourism operator within the Elephant Coast, partnering with many smaller ventures and operators in a co-operative manner to bring the remote rural areas into the formal tourism market place in new and innovative ways, by including these areas as destinations, stop overs and places of interest to the tourism industry focusing on the domestic tourist and including the international tourism sector at all levels

Current portfolio of services\products

Sangena Tours currently offers the tourist to the Elephant Coast the following services from our operations based in Khula Village at the southeastern corner of the Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park:

Transfers from regional airports of Richards Bay and Durban to the many establishments within the Elephant Coast including but not limited to

• Day trips and guided tours to the many local places of interest and game viewing trips within the Elephant Coast and Great St. Lucia Wetlands Park including but not limited to: -

Purpose

The purpose of Sangena Tours is to establish a platform to offer services to the tourism industry of the Elephant Coast and the Greater St Lucia Wetlands park World Heritage Site in new and novels ways, empowering as many of the rural inhabitants of Umkhanyakude District Municipality as is economically sustainable, by including their product, services and locations as part and parcel of our packages.

Aims and Objectives

Sangena Tours would like to become a major role player within the tourism industry of the Elephant Coast and the Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park. This will be achieved by partnering with many small rural organizations and community based groups who are currently excluded from most business operations within the area due to past business practices.

Company structure

Sangena tours is a closed corporation with a CEO controlling two separate section, namely an administrative section and an operational section.

Sangena Tours would like to treat every client or customer as if he /she were our only customer, and our staff are all highly motivated individuals with the necessary skills and experience to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.

Sangena Tours realise that most of the person visit the Elephant Coast do so because of the natural beauty and abundant wildlife within our area, and we take nature conservation, eco tourism, and related issues up as an essential part of our daily living.

Sangena Tours has created a healthy work ethic for our staff and partners by introducing training programs, which include participation, upliftment and management strategies at various levels.

Sangena Tours would like to instill a high standard of business ethics, integrity and discretion when dealing with tourists, business partners and people in general.
